Composition

Each film coated tablet contains
Ferrous Ascorbate equivalent to elemental Iron . ……………………   100mg
Folic Acid IP . ……………………………………………….. ………………………1.5 mg
Zinc Sulphate monohydrate equivalent to elemental zinc ……… ..  22.5 mg

INDICATIONS

ADFEE is indicated for the following:
Iron-deficiency anaemia due to chronic blood loss, hookworm infestation, and inadequate intake of iron.
Megalo-blastic anaemia due to a deficiency of folic acid.
Dimorphic anaemia.
Anaemias of nutritional origin, pregnancy, infancy and childhood.
Tonic in general weakness, lack of appetite, rundown conditions and convalescence.
Post-surgery and other debilitating conditions.
Anaemia due to excessive blood loss during menstruation.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Adults and children (aged over 12 years):-
1 -2 tablets per day in divided doses or as directed by the physician.
ADFEE offers iron in Ferrous Ascorbate form. Adfee Has highest Elemetal Contents of 100mg. The preparation was found to be effective and safe in prevention and treatment of iron deficiency with lesser side effects compared to FS. As a result ADFEE produces earlier & rapid rise in haemoglobin than that obtained with the other iron salts.

Folic acid are essential co-factors that help in haemopoiesis. The co-factors are essential for DNA synthesis & is essential for maturation of erythrocytes or Red blood cells.

Zinc is important in carbon-dioxide metabolism. Is necessary for normal growth & wound healing, normal taste sensations & appetite & normal sperm counts in males. Zinc supplementation is also associated with reduction in premature births & neonatal morbidityContraindications

ADFEE is contraindicated in the following:

•    Patients with a hypersensitivity to iron and folic acid.
•    Patients who have active bacterial infections.
•    Patients with haemosiderosis, haemochromatosis, and haemolytic anaemia.
